Men’s Basketball: Chatham at Thiel (1-26-22)

Men’s Basketball – Thiel
#23 Ahmad Tejumola
6-8 Senior Forward
Stat Line: 25 points, 19 rebounds

A valiant comeback bid by Thiel fell short on Wednesday night as the Tomcats dropped an 80-66 decision to Chatham. The Tomcats trailed by 22 points in the second half but trimmed the Chatham lead to just 53-51 with 9:26 remaining. The Thiel rally was spearheaded by senior forward Ahmad Tejumola. With an inspired effort, Tejumola netted 25 points and posted a remarkable 19 rebounds, the second highest rebound total of his career. Tejumola’s recognition as Foster Law Offices Player of the game marks just the second time in the 11-year history of the PAC Sports Network that a player from the losing team was selected as the Player of the Game. The last player to be tabbed Player of the Game from a losing team was Westminster’s Doug Smith on Nov. 30, 2012. Smith scored 40 points and hit 10 3-pointers in a 92-87 overtime loss at W&J.
