Men’s PAC Championship: Chatham at Allegheny

Men’s Basketball – Chatham
#22 Nick Bomar
6-2 Grad Student Guard/Forward
Stat Line:  16 points, 6-of-7 from the field, 4 rebounds

In similar fashion to their title run during the 2018-19 season, the fourth-seeded Chatham Cougars claimed a second PAC championship with a thrilling 76-73 at second-seeded Allegheny on Saturday night. During the 2018-19 campaign, the Cougars earned a first round home win and a pair of road victories in the semifinals and finals to claim the PAC crown. A freshman on that squad was Nick Bomar. Now a grad student at Chatham, Bomar was the driving force in this year’s trek to the title. An emotional leader for the team, Bomar was the spark plug on Saturday night with a team-high 16-point effort, including 6-of-7 shooting from the field. Pouring in 2-of-3 shots from beyond the arc, the Bethel Park product added four rebounds, two assists and two steals in a well-rounded effort. Chatham improves to 17-11 on the season and advances to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in five years. An impressive feat for a program that is only in its eighth year of existence. For his efforts in the championship, Bomar was named the Foster Law Offices Player of the Game.
