The Thomas More men’s basketball team won its second straight PAC championship, and third overall, with an exciting 78-73 triumph over the Bethany Bison on Saturday, February 24. The Bison were making their first appearance in the title game since the 2011-2012 season and held a 58-54 lead with just under eight minutes to play, thanks in large part to a 22-point performance from senior guard Calique Jones. The reigning PAC champions tied the game at 60-60 with 4:54 remaining and used an 8-1 run to take gain control of the game in the waning minutes. The dagger was a 3-pointer by Damion King with 1:29 to play to give the Saints a 68-61 lead. King finished with a double-double, totaling 23 points and 13 rebounds.
