Men’s PAC Semifinal: Thiel at Allegheny

Men’s Basketball – Allegheny
#23 Andre Wilder
6-4 Junior Forward
Stat Line:  28 points, 12 rebounds

The PAC men’s basketball semi-finals featured two teams that are separated by less than 30 miles as the No. 2 seeded Allegheny Gators played host to the No. 6 seeded Thiel Tomcats on Thursday night. Thiel dominated their quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday with the No. 3 Geneva Golden Tornadoes and the Gators were able to sneak away with a five-point win against the No. 7 seeded Saint Vincent Bearcats. The action opened with both teams scoring early, but junior forward Andre Wilder started to create the separation needed for the Gators. With 13 minutes to play in the first half, Wilder nailed a three that put the Gators on top 15-11. Moments later, Wilder cashed in another triple to extend the Gator lead to seven. The offense never stagnated for Allegheny, as they put away Thiel by a final of 106-66 for their fourth century mark performance of the year. Wilder finished the night with a game-high 28 points on 11-for-12 shooting from the floor and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. His stellar performance led to him being named to the Foster Law Office Player of the Game.
